Palestinian

had been shot earlier that day |

A
ten-year-old boy we met on the road one day shows us a bullet wound in
his shoulder and face, he had been shot by the army in a street clash |

More
children in the house we stayed at. They sat in front of us, staring
& talking Arabic for about 6 hours |

At
the road demonstration, where local Palestinians are demonstrating
against the 'Apartheid' Wall that's being built on the border of The
Occupied Territories and Israel. The reason for the demonstration is
because the wall is being built further inside The Occupied
Territories than it should be, and also because the farmers now can't
get from one side of their land to the other while the wall is being
built. We were there to demonstrate, to be in solidarity with the
Palestinians and to protect the Palestinians from the army |
 |
The
Palestinians speak with the commander of the army to try to let them
continue farming their land while the wall is being built, he makes an
easy promise, but we think it is more to diffuse the demonstration
rather than give the Palestinians what they want |

At
one of the checkpoints around the city of Nablus. Palestinian men,
women and children being detained and not allowed pass either
way...people who include students going to university, doctors trying
to go to work and mothers with children trying to go home after being
in the city buying supplies |
 |
With
the checkpoint closed for the last 3 hours, volunteers try to persuade
the soldiers to let people through, or at least give a reason for
closing the checkpoint, or give a time when it will be open again.
They ignore us, threaten us with arrest, and tell us we're meddling in
business that doesn't concern us |

One
of the Israeli tanks moving through the checkpoint. While we stood
here, there were constant gunshots from about 50 yards away from the
checkpoint, they were having target practice against one of the cliffs |

Men
being detained by the soldiers at a Azmud checkpoint...in the distance
you can see the village they are trying to get to...they were detained
for 6 hours for 'security checks' and then released just as the
soldiers were going off duty with no security problems at all |

Our
demonstration at the occupied house, with the soldiers watching us.
The family now can only be in the ground floor, with the army has taken
over the rest of the house as a military base/detention center/watch
tower |
