RACHEL: AN AMERICAN CONSCIENCE

 Wednesday, August 3, 6:30 -9:00 PM

Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court,

RACHEL: AN AMERICAN CONSCIENCE is a documentary about a 23 year old American who gave her life defending human rights and freedom two years ago. With her death, Rachel Corrie's work and message became a beacon of hope in a sadly dark world. The movie explores Rachel’s work and that of others working for peace in the Middle East. The movie played to a packed house at its Chicago Premiere.

Yahya Barakat, director of this powerful 90 minute documentary, goes beyond the politics of the Occupation to depict the facts on the ground.

Sponsored by NW SUSTAIN and the Chicago chapter of the International Solidarity Movement. Recently returned volunteers will be available for discussion after the movie

This is the home page of SUSTAIN Northwestern Suburbs a grassroots organization based in the NW suburbs of Chicago. We are a local chapter of the national organization SUSTAIN based in Washington DC.

Stop US Tax-funded Aid to Israel Now! SUSTAIN is a non-hierarchical, grassroots organization committed to supporting and sustaining the Palestinian movement for justice, human rights and self-determination. The United States government supports Israeli violations of Palestinian national and human rights militarily, economically, and ideologically. The most tangible form of this support is the massive tax-funded aid that goes to Israel.

Our Mission

We are committed to building a campaign against US military and economic aid to Israel so that US tax-dollars do not support the abuse of human rights.

Group Profile

We are a group of concerned US citizens who object to our tax dollars being used to fund oppression and human rights abuses. We are from all religious faiths. Many of us have a background in activism for social justice.
